The group was unable to achieve major success in their home country of the United States but earned huge international recognition, notably in Japan. Ford was a long-running and prosperous career as a heavy-metal singer after her band's split in 1979. After taking voice lessons she released her solo debut album "Out for Blood", followed by "Dancin' in the Dark". The albums of Ford were not particularly well-received, and so she went under the radar for a few years. In 1988, she came back to the limelight with her smash album "Lita". Kiss Me Deadly was her biggest hit, as were the ballads Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. The problem was that her popularity was not long-lasting, and she vanished from the music industry for many years. After releasing 'Black in 1995 as well as a year later, 'Wicked Wonderland" came out, and she was back. The latest album she released, Time Capsule was released in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine gave her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
